 I did not understand the idea of having a magazine subscription sent first to an address in the US and then to pay again for shipment to me overseas. This makes a magazine subscription very expensive.

Let me add couple more reasons why we provide this kind of service:
1) publisher doesn't provide International subscription at all
2) publisher provides International subscription but won't accept payment from your country or your banking institution
3) you are subscribing multiple magazines from multiple publishers, it's significantly cheaper to purchase US domestic subscriptions and have them forwarded in one envelope on demand for better price and with better service (USPS Priority Mail)
4) you get free Mailbox with us that can handle not just magazines but all kinds of shipments, anytime you make a purchase, you can consolidate your subscribed and delivered magazines with your other purchases and have them shipped together by better and faster service (USPS PMI, EMS, DHL Express, ...)

First, before we even proceed with the order I wanna make sure you understand principle of this service because People magazine is weekly and for international subscription it can become quite costly.
$116.07 is a price for one year subscription of People Magazine to your Mailbox here in South San Francisco, California, this is the amount for domestic subscription charged by publisher, we don't charge any fees to process subscription with publisher.
Subscribed magazines are delivered to South San Francisco, upon arrival of each issue you will get email with information with magazine title and its actual weight. The weight is the most crucial element, last issue of People magazine weighed 0.8 lbs.
Now, if you want to forward individual magazines, it's the most expensive option, actual postage would be $5.05 for an envelope with single magazine with weight of 0.8 lbs plus $1 fee for forwarding. Around Christmas magazines will become even more heavy. And while we are talking about 53 issues in a year, it can be quite expensive experiment.
Economical option is sending in bulk, we can stack up whole month of magazines (4-5 issues) into one flat-rate envelope (upto 4 lbs of weight) with flat postage Worldwide $13.90 plus $1 fee per issue, meaning $17.90-18.90 total for forwarding per month, compared to $25-30 for forwarding of individual issues.
